About us

Most jewelry is designed in Amsterdam and handmade, which makes each item unique. The signature of Le Rêve Amsterdam can be recognized by the romantic, chic, classic and timeless touch that each piece of jewelry contains. You will see many flowers, leaves, hearts , bows, but also sleek designs can be found here.

We work with sustainable materials (Gold (18 or 24 carat) on Sterling silver (925) and (recycled) brass). These (precious) metals are combined with in particular precious/natural stones, Hydroquartz, Swarovski crystals and pearls.

How it started…

Le Rêve Amsterdam was founded by Geneviève Schelkens-van Wel. When she discovered the power of earrings on her appearance, her great love for earrings arose.

However, because she could rarely find what she was looking for, she decided after a career of 14 years at Ahold, Procter & Gamble and Douwe Egberts (she graduated in business economics in 3 directions from the University of Tilburg) to follow her dream ('Le rêve'): to start her own company manufacturing jewelry for the elegant, modern woman.

Strategic growth

Since then, the brand has been built very strategically.

In 2020, the webshop was rewarded with the best new webshop in the Netherlands by consumers!

The larger magazines have also discovered Le Rêve Amsterdam and the brand is regularly featured in &C by Chantal Janzen, Marie-Claire, Beaumonde, Grazia, Libelle, Vriendin, Weekend, Party, BeautyPlus TV, etc. The brand is even featured in the magazine in all Transavia planes.

Since then, the brand has grown rapidly and the company has expanded rapidly:

the design studio is in Amsterdam, the second studio where all orders are processed is in Weesp and the office is in Amstelveen. The brand has its own production lines in Europe. Geneviève travels regularly through Europe to discuss the processes and designs and to always take a step in quality and to guarantee this.

Inspiration

The inspiration comes from all the life experiences Geneviève has gained and her strong sense and passion for fashion: not so much the latest trends, but the timeless and classic expressions of fashion is what intrigues her the most. You can see this in the jewelry, it has that typical handwriting. Furthermore, we get inspiration from every woman, because every woman is unique and that fascinates us enormously.

She has 3 small children and Geneviève also finds peace in all the hustle and bustle in talking to women about what makes them happy in general and with regard to jewelry. This is how unique items are created that distinguish the brand.

Women have become so much more versatile in the last decades and have to keep so many balls in the air. That is why a moment for yourself is what we find so important: an inspiring webshop with a lot of variety where you can dream away in peace.

Goal

And the ultimate goal is and will always remain: to provide the VERY special women with the most elegant and unique jewelry and to let you feel that moment of happiness when it really is all about YOU when you open the package. And then it is time to receive the compliments about your new jewelry!

With such a goal, it's not that hard to make women really happy.
